《薛西弗斯推石 反映的人生與人類絕望處境》
做學問要不斷往深度挖掘，要儘量追問到最深的問題，這是哲學這門學問的性質，人生也要承載人類整體的命運；人生要有格局。
哲學家卡謬說: "真正嚴肅的哲學問題只有一個就是自殺"。他的意思是人出現在宇宙是件荒謬的事，人類是荒謬的存在，人生本無意義。視哲學為研究死亡的學問是哲學的傳統之一，但哲學不只是研究死亡。
在《薛西弗斯的神話》一書中，卡謬述說薛西弗斯被神處罰把大石頭往山頂堆，但每到接近山頂時石頭就滾回山下，他下山再一次把石頭往山推，石頭再滾下來，他再度往上推，就這樣不斷地重複，他繼續做這無意義的事。卡謬把人生比喻為荒謬而無意義的事再擴大，擴大到認識薛西弗斯荒謬的處境；但在無意義行動中可找到人生意義、他的自由，甚至快樂；每當薛西弗斯從山底再度開始推動石頭時，他是再度向神挑戰，他的反抗精神與尊嚴可說上與天(神)齊。
中國哲學或中國思想的天人合一思想對宇宙的認定從開始就錯誤。卡謬說: "All great deeds and all great thoughts have a ridiculous beginning"。認識問題與解決問題必須從知道宇宙真相與人生是荒謬的事實開始，這是重要的開始，有這基本認識才可能有偉大的、有意義的思想與崇高雄偉的功績。各文化文明的宗教與中國傳統思想都是文不對題，都不是真實偉大的思想與義行。
卡繆在《薛西弗斯的神話》（法語：Le Mythe de Sisyphe；英語：The Myth of Sisyphus）中，從作為哲學問題的自殺，以及自殺映射出生活中的荒謬開始談，再以古希臘薛西弗斯的神話進一步闡述此處境。卡繆認為，人渴望尋求一切的意義，統一和清晰，世界卻充滿著不可理解，這種人與世界的對立就是荒謬。卡繆提出的問題是：荒謬在怎樣的程度上導致了人的自殺？人能否帶著荒謬義無反顧地生活？
